Natural Bridge

Grandpa Roy walked the whole way, down, beyond the bridge and back up again.

A highway passes over the bridge today. Most drivers probably don't realize it.

Early visitors carved their initials, and sometimes even their names, into the stone at Natural Bridge.

The exhibit was closed, but Grandpa Roy was able to photograph the signs and structures with his good camera.

Saltpeter (potassium nitrate) was used to make gun powder.

Wild flowers and other plants frequently were encountered along the trail.
