Click for A walk-around of photos of the An-225, the world's largest transport, but still in smaller size.
Two notes: First, the photos were scanned 2 or 3 years ago and sized for dial-up access and, therefore, are only 640 pixels wide by various amounts of pixels high. Second, new software is being used to caption and upload photos and this first upload is a test of that software. Comments on the "viewing experience" would be appreciated.
Background Information
This site contains information about and/or photographs
of Russian aircraft, their designers and test pilots, daily
Russian Aviation News translations into English, and a large number
of links to other sources of
information, photos and video of Soviet/Russian aircraft. Photos
and information are added or updated whenever time can be found, with the
exception of the Russian
Aviation News Translations which are updated every weekday, except
Russian holidays. In addition, there is a an automated
daily calendar of events in the history of Soviet/Russian aviation
which previously had not been available anywhere in English and very possibly
still is not anywhere else on the Web (I haven't looked.)
Non-Russian Aircraft Photos
There now are hundreds of photos of non-Russian aircraft
on the site, all taken by me. While a new category has been created
for photos taken before 1990, many photos in the regular non-Russian section
also were taken before 1990. If the new software works out, larger photos more suitable for today's high-speed connections will be posted using it.
You may use
photos on your own system that I have taken. You may even upload
them to your own site or to newsgroups. The only thing is, you must
credit Roy Cochrun as the scanner and/or
owner of the photos. You may NOT sell
them or publish them via electronic or print media for resale.
U.S. Government photos may be used
in accordance with their rules.
