Grandpa Roy has met several Tuskegee Airmen. Early U.S. Army manuals said Blacks would never be able to fly. These guys put lie to that statement. When finally allowed to escort bombers during World War II, they never lost a bomber because of the tactics they adopted. There are few left alive today (2012) as they are, like so many other military personnel of that war, are growing old.
