Photo Grandpa Roy took at Dulaney Valley Memorial Park near Baltimore, Maryland, of Colonel Gale Halvorsen, USAF Retired, in the 1990s. He was Grandpa Roy's commanding officer when Grandpa was stationed in West Berlin. Colonel Halvorsen was the Memorial Day speaker the day this photo was taken. He gained fame as the "Candy Bomber" during the Berlin Airlift in 1948.

Great Uncle Rodney Watcher, U.S. Navy, who was serving aboard the USS Saratoga when it forced a chartered Egyptair airliner to land. It was carrying the terrorists who had hijacked the Achille Lauro liner off Egypt. Uncle Rodney later served as an enlisted air traffic controller at the Patuxent River Naval Air Test Center in Maryland.
