Canyon Helicopter Flight
This flight was made during the trip in 2000 to the South Rim.
Grandma and Grandpa took a flight over the Grand Canyon.
Grandma photographed the "airport."
Grandma Bert enjoyed the views aboard the helicopter. She was in the front seat.
Imagine, first the layers had to be built up and then the Colorado River had to erode them away to form the Grand Canyon.
The Colorado River can be seen far below.
Depending on the location of the sun, the colors change.
A magnificent view! This is yet another photo taken by Grandma Bert. Her photos are identified by the year ('00) being at the end of the date. Grandpa's camera recorded the year ('00) first.
On the other side of the canyon are acres and acres of trees.
The trees go right up to the rim. Notice how flat the terrain is except for the big hole in the ground.
Notice the beauty and different color of the layers that built up over the millenia. The style of the date indicates this photo was taken by Grandpa Roy.
Snow can be seen in this shot from the helicopter of the south rim of the Grand Canyone National Park.
Grandpa Roy walks away from the helicopter after the flight over the canyon.
A souvenir photo from the helicopter company.
