Russian Air Force Fully Provided with Aircraft

The Russian air force is able to neutralize an aerospace threat, air force commander-in-chief, General-Colonel Aleksandr Zelin, declared at a meeting with journalists.

"As of today, the provision of the air force with airplanes and helicopters, on the whole, is 100 percent and meets the needs for the resolution of peacetime tasks and armed conflicts of different level and scale," A. Zelin noted.

That availability in Russia's air force, which is capable of carrying out containment missions and when necessary neutralizing any aerospace threat, is stipulated by its special geopolitical role, the CinC noted.

According to him, long range aviation, in the inventory of which are the strike aviation complexes – the strategic Tu-95MS and Tu-160 missile carriers, long-range Tu-22M3 missile carriers and bombers and the Il-78 refueling airplanes makes the main contribution to the resolution of the global containment mission.
