This man's name is Omur. He was the maitre d'hotel on the Carnival Miracle. Here he is telling us about how much food they cook each day on the ship. Grandpa Roy went to listen to him and tour the galley, the kitchen on the ship where they prepared all the good food. The maitre d' is the person who makes certain everyone has a place to sit and is enjoying their meal. Gee, just like Mom!
Look how clean everything is in the galley. Of course, they weren't cooking when this photo was taken. But a little while after Grandpa Roy took this picture, you can bet they were busy!
Everything was clean and ready for the evening's supper. When a waiter brought your food, it was covered with these lids to keep it hot until he got it to you.
Here a man is makeing a decorative carving in a melon. We saw this melon again after he finished carving it.
