Bacchus Dining Room
What wasn't so beautiful on board the Miracle was the formal dining room. The theme was Bacchus, the god of wine, after whom the dining room was named. The purple things are supposed to be bunches of grapes with lights inside. They were very gaudy, but some people liked them.

Here is the Bacchus dining room with the lights turned on. Instead of black or purple grapes, they are pink!

During the day the dining room didn't look so gaudy. Thank goodness!

This wild-looking man was Grandma Bert and Grandpa Roy's waiter every evening. He normally didn't look like this. He wore the outrageous wig and glasses after dinner every evening, when all the waiters and waitresses entertained us for a few minutes. He was from Jamaica, where the hurricane did a lot of damage while your grandparents were on this cruise. He told us all his family and friends were safe. He has sailed with Carnival for some years and had a lot of interesting stories to tell.
